OFFICIAL RULEBOOK

The basic rules for tournaments organized by DARTSLIVE are based on the SUPER DARTS 2025 QUALIFIER - OFFICIAL RULEBOOK listed below. Any other rules shall be in accordance with the rules of each individual tournament.

1. Darts Machines

  • DARTSLIVE2 and DARTSLIVE3 are the official darts machines for tournaments organized by DARTSLIVE.
  • The height of the center of the target (bullseye) shall be 173 centimeters from the ground.
  • The diagonal distance from the front edge of the throw line to the center of the target (bullseye) shall measure 298.4 centimeters.

2. Darts

  • The darts that are permitted for use in tournaments shall not exceed 30 centimeters in overall length (the length of one dart).
  • Each dart shall not exceed 25 grams in total weight.
  • All tips must be made of plastic.

3. Throw

  • Darts must be thrown one at a time by and from a player's hand (one hand).
  • The player's front foot must be in contact with the ground while setting and aiming their darts before the throw.
  • A player may throw a dart or darts from any point of the playing area as long as their foot stays behind the front edge of the throw line.
  • If a player wishes to throw from a position on either side of the throw line, they must stay behind the line, which is an extension of the throw line.
  • A player may lean their upper part of the body over the throw line and throw a dart or darts as long as their toe doesn't cross the front edge of the throw line.
  • A player may not lunge or cross the front edge of the throw line while throwing a dart. The player's front and back foot must remain behind the throw line until the final dart is thrown.
  • If a Player has a medical need to utilize any assistive device, such device shall not cross the front edge of the throw line.

4. General Rules

  • A player may throw up to three darts in each round. A throw of all three darts may not be required in some circumstances.
  • Any acts that intentionally delay a match, interferes purposely with your opponent's play, or acts that are deemed to be causing such delay or interruption, will be considered as a violation of the rules and subject to penalties.
Player change

DARTSLIVE2

  • A player presses the change button after his/her turn and goes behind the throw line.("Player Change")
  • No throwing including rethrow is acceptable during the change process.("REMOVE DARTS" appears on the machine screen.)Even if a dart is thrown during this time, not points can be earned.
  • If a dart thrown does not stick on the board and falls off before the change process (Change button is not pressed), the player can rethrow. Before the change process, dart machine reaction (points) will be considered as a valid score if the dart remains on the board.

DARTSLIVE3

  • A player removes the darts from the board after his or her turn and goes behind the throw line after his/her turn.("Player Change")
  • No throwing including a rethrow is acceptable during the change process. Even if a dart is thrown during this time, no points can be earned.
  • If a player's performance is hindered or interrupted due to factors beyond his/her control, such as machine failure and interruption by opponents, the player can rethrow.

5. Order of Play

Loser throws first rule
  • The winner of the cork throws first in the 1st LEG.
  • The loser of the previous LEG throws first from the 2nd LEG and onwards.
  • If the final LEG is a CHOICE, then the cork is performed again. The winner of the cork may either choose to throw first or choose the type of game.
Alternative start rule
  • The winner of the cork throws first in the 1st LEG.
  • Players throw first alternatively for the 2nd LEG and onwards regardless of the game results.
  • If the final leg is a Choice, players will throw for the Cork again. The winner of the cork may either choose to throw first or choose the type of game.

6. Game Rules

01 Game General Rules
  • The word "01 Game" connotes either one of "301", "501", "701", "901", "1101", "1501".
  • Unless a separate rule is specified by each tournament, a "15-Round" round limit rule applies to "301", "501", and "701" while a "20-Round" limit to "901", "1101", and "1501".
  • The first player who reduces the score from a specified point to exactly zero wins the game.
  • If neither player finishes the game in the 01 Game, regardless of the remaining scores, the cork shall be performed and the player who throws closest to the center of the BULL wins. The same order of throw shall be used for the cork.
  • For FAT BULL format, Both Inner-Bull and Outer-Bull count as 50 points.
  • For SEPARATE BULL format, Inner-Bull counts as 50 points and Outer-Bull count as 25 points.
  • IN OPTION (Open In / Double In / Master In) or OUT OPTION (Open Out / Double Out / Master Out) will be set in accordance with the requirements of each tournament.
CRICKET Game General Rules
  • Unless specifically stated, the word "CRICKET Game" connotes "STANDARD CRICKET".
  • Unless a separate rule is specified by each tournament, a "20-Round" round limit rule applies to all CRICKET Games.
  • Target numbers from 15 to 20 and the BULL are used for the game. Each target requires 3 MARKs to be closed and a player who closes the target first can score from that number by hitting it again.
  • Closing the same target that is already closed by the opponent makes that number unavailable for further scoring.
  • The player who closes all target numbers and has the higher points wins the game.
  • If neither player finishes the game, the one with the higher score wins the game. If the score is tied, the cork shall be performed and the player who throws closest to the center of the BULL wins. The same order of throw shall be used for the cork.
COUNT-UP Game General Rules
  • The number of rounds of this game is limited to 8 Rounds.
  • Both Inner-Bull and Outer-Bull count as 50 points.
  • The player with the higher (highest) points at the end 8 Round wins the game.
SHOOT OUT Game General Rules
  • “Number of hits” × “Number of open areas” is the points you score.
  • Each time a target is hit, the scoring multiplier increases, from 1x to a maximum of 21x from the first throw.
  • However, once a number is hit, it becomes invalid the next time.
  • The player with the higher score at the end of 8 rounds is the winner.
  • If all targets are hit within 8 rounds, the player can perform the BULL Challenge for the number of darts remaining.

7. Cork

  • Each player throws a dart at the Bull. The one who throws closest to the center of the Bull wins the cork.
  • The throwing order of the cork shall be determined by the DARTSLIVE2 or DARTSLIVE3 coin-toss function.
  • If the winner of the cork cannot be determined after the first throw by both players, then each player shall throw the second dart in the reversed order of throw.
  • A player may re-throw a dart if the dart thrown bounces off or falls out of the dartboard.
  • All darts thrown shall not be removed from the dartboard until the cork winner is determined.
  • The dart thrown by the former thrower may be removed from the dartboard before the next person throws his/her dart only if it is in the center of the Bull.
  • If a team consists of 2 or more players, one player from each team playing the objective game shall be designated for the cork.
  • Changing the thrower during the corking is not permitted.
  • If the second player's throw causes the dart of the first player to fall out, the first player can re-do his/her cork. If both the first and second player's darts fall out, the CORK must be restarted.

8. Machine Error (Incorrect scoring)

  • If a dart machine scores points incorrectly when a dart sticks on the board, the score can be corrected before the player's change if both players are in agreement.
  • In case of incorrect scoring, if darts on the board are removed, the score cannot be corrected. However, if a player requests score correction before player change and his or her opponent accepts the request, the correction can be made.
  • Please be aware that in case of incorrect scoring, if darts on the board are removed and the next player is up, the score cannot be corrected.
How to correct incorrect scoring

DARTSLIVE2

  • If a dart machine scores points incorrectly when a dart is thrown on the board, use the "Reverse-A-Round" function to reverse the score and enter the correct points by pressing the target segment where the dart is located.
  • If a dart thrown does not stick on the board and falls off, the dart machine reaction (points) will be considered a valid score. Even if the points are not added, the player can not rethrow.

DARTSLIVE3

  • If a dart machine scores incorrect points when a dart is thrown on the board, the referee should make the necessary correction by selecting the appropriate score from the screen.
  • If a dart thrown does not stick on the board and falls off, the dart machine reaction (points) will be considered a valid score. Even if the points are not added, the player can not re-throw.

9. Tournament Format

Single Elimination (SKO)
  • The draw for single-elimination tournaments is made in accordance with the rules specified by each tournament.
  • No changes will be made to the tournament chart, even if a player (or players) withdraws from the tournament after completing their tournament entry the day before or on the day of the event. It will be processed as a bye for the opponent player(s).
Round-Robin
  • Allocation of players to different groups (Bloc) and a cap of each group in round-robin tournaments are determined in accordance with the rules specified by each tournament.
  • The number of players that advance to the final round of the tournament is determined in accordance with the rules specified by each tournament.
  • No changes will be made to the round-robin tournament groups and the allocation of players to those groups, even if a player (or players) withdraws from the tournament after completing their tournament entry the day before or on the day of the event. It will be processed as a bye for the opponent player(s).
  • Each Bloc's order of merit is determined as per the rules provided below.
    1. (1) The number of matches won
    2. (2) The number of LEGS won
    3. (3) The number of LEGS lost
    4. (4) The result
  • If 3 or more players are tied on (1)-(4), each player will be asked to play a SHOOT OUT. The winner of the SHOOT OUT will proceed to the SKO tournament.
  • Players who do not participate in the SHOOT OUT will forfeit their right to advance to the Final Tournament.

10. Sandbagging Rules

  • At the tournaments that employ Sandbagging Rules, players have obligations to submit their 01 and CRICKET games' "80% STATS" together with match results to the control desk.
  • Unless specifically stated otherwise, Sandbagging Rules are not applied.
  • Players shall submit the "80% Standard" version of STATS of 01 and CRICKET games.
  • Players whose tournament stats considerably exceed their pre-registered stats or the standard defined by each tournament may become subject to disqualification in accordance with the tournament rules.
  • In principle, STATS and their corresponding Ratings in the following chart will be used as a reference for verifying the possibility of sandbagging.

11. The Authority of the Referee

  • SUPER DARTS SECRETARIAT (hereinafter referred to as "SDS") choose referees and those referees have full authority to enforce the rules and regulations of the game in connection with the match. Players have to promptly and immediately follow the directions of their referee.
  • A referee can indicate that a player has committed an act of violation or possible violation of the rules and regulations that are described on a separate page.

12. Violation of Rules

  • ・Interfering with opponent's play.
  • ・Engaging in activities that intentionally delay the games.
  • ・Throwing darts while crossing the throw line.
  • ・Refusing to revise the incorrect score by deliberately advancing the turn.
  • ・Ignoring the referee's directions and warnings

13. Penalties for Violation of Rules

  • Should a player be deemed to have violated any of the aforementioned rules, sanctions may be imposed by the SUPER DARTS SECRETARIAT tournament staff, which may include, but are not limited to one or all of the following:
    • ・Loss of turn and/or game where the violation occurred.
    • ・Loss of match and/or forfeiture from the event.
    • ・Banned from current and/or future events.
  • The SDS has the final say on sanctions that may be imposed on a player for rules violations. Should sanctions occur to a player for rules violations, any entry fees, whether pre-paid or not, will not be refunded.
  • Any player who is cautioned by the referee or the SUPER DARTS SECRETARIAT more than three times during one tournament shall be subject to disqualification.

14. Machine malfunction and power outage

  • In case the game needs to be suspended and re-started due to accidents such as machine malfunction or power outage, tournament staff restores the game status upon consent from both players.
  • If the game is not restorable, that LEG will be reset and a new game shall be played.
  • In case a game is interrupted due to machine trouble, etc. and the machine is rebooted, the game will be played again from the beginning of the leg that was in progress. (Including the cork in the first leg and fifth leg.)
